3. Friends
A friend is something pretty easy to find, you just go into your social network of preference and add someone as a friend. Doesn't it work that way? For most people yes. You don't necessarily have to talk to each other, you just widen the number of followers that the other person has. But why does it have to be this way? Why do we keep finding ourselves looking at the likes of our most recent picture or feeling lonely with no one to talk to, so we just upload a new picture and wait for society's approval?
Ok, so an online friend is easy to find, but what about a real friend? What about a good one? That, I assure you, is harder to find. Someone who will stick with you through thick and thin. Someone willing to listen to all the crazy things you have to say. Someone to comfort you when things go wrong and to cheer for you every time you succeed. But not only that. You also have to be that person who listens to them while they talk about what they love most. You also have to be the one to comfort them, even if you are also suffering. You have to be the one to love them, no matter what, because that is what will transform an acquaintance into a friend.
Personally, I really appreciate the friends I have and thank them every time I can. I have friends from different groups and different occasions, but only 11 of them have made it to my closest ones. The ones without whom I wouldn't know what to do. They have been with me for almost 4 years of my life and there's not a day I regret.
Those are the people I tell my deepest secrets and worries and those are the people I never want to lose. And, though I don't see them every day, every time we get together it's as if time hadn't passed by.
