29. About halloween
Nowadays people celebrate Halloween on the night of the thirty first of October, but actually, this tradition goes way back to the Celts. The Celts used to celebrate Samhain, which is a pagan religious festival usually celebrated to welcome in the harvest and usher “the dark half of the year”. But, How did Samhain end up being Halloween? The truth is that seeing this pagan celebration, Pope Gregory decided to make this a Christian celebration, moved it to the first of November and called it “All saints day”.
