Practice 17: Descriptive lead

    Today we learned about the importance of introductions and conclusions. Because of this, we had to write an introduction to the topic treated in practice 13 and practice 16. I chose government surveillance. To write a good introduction we need to:

• Introduce the topic clearly
• Give information about the topic
• State the thesis

GOVERNMENT SURVEILLANCE:

    Nowadays we live in a society full of sins, like robbery, murder and violence, so the government sees the necessity of implementing surveillance to ensure the security of all citizens. Many people favour this decision alleging that it will mean more security and the eradication of these crimes. Nevertheless, as a citizen, I consider that this measurement has many disadvantages such as the violation of people’s liberty, the money that is to be spent on equipment and the lack of trust that the government puts on their own citizens.
